Sleep…

I am in desperate need of a solid 8 hours of sleep. I am not sure I have had that much sleep in one setting in over 5 years. This is one of the current causes of my lack of sleep- “Bob.” This active 3 year old can not turn it off. He can not stop long enough to fall asleep. I have tried nearly everything. I have finally found a solution in our 13 year old cat- should have tried one of the younger cats first… Anyways, Bob is in love with “Piggy.” She will curl up next to him. He must to be still or she will leave. She starts purring right away and he quickly drifts off to sleep. I am, of course, bribing the cats with ice cream. Here’s to Piggy!

Project Life {Week 2}

I thought I could keep it up, posting my image each day that is. I can’t. So, here I am posting my layout from last week. I am loving the new photo sleeves from Becky Higgins. I take a lot of vertical photographs, now I don’t have to turn them 180 degrees.

Elizabeth got her first point and shoot camera for Christmas this year. So far it is holding up great! She also got the little polaroid printer. The prints are very small, but she loves them. I was able to add a number of her photographs to last week.

She kind of let me take a picture of her after her nap yesterday. Such a tough age she doesn’t really need a nap, but if she doesn’t get one she is a terror by 6…

I was looking at Christopher today and trying to figure out when he stopped being my baby. I was wondering how he changed so much in the past year. Then I thought, I bet I took a picture of him almost every day his first year. I quickly went through and grabbed as many pictures as I could and threw them into a slideshow. I actually think I can pinpoint certain changes.The big physical changes seemed to coincide with his developmental milestones.

I don’t really care for pictures of me. However, I do want my kids to remember me in pictures. I set up the camera and took a picture of me reading Chris his bedtime story tonight.

I am 1 day behind and trying catch up. Anyways, here is little Christopher playing on the playground in the backyard. He is fearless at 13 months old.

365 Days of Crazy, Days 6, 7, & 8

This is going to have to be a quick post. We just got back from Disney World and I have a ton to get done before tomorrow morning. This weekend was the Disney Marathon. They also have a 5k run on Friday morning. You can run with a stroller, so Dan and I thought it would be fun to run with kids. We race every race we can find where strollers are allowed. Unfortunately, Dan and I missed that this was a “Fun” run. We are fairly competitive people and this was not a competitive race. First, strollers were put back with the walkers. Not a good idea. Second, people were actually stopping in the middle of the race to take pictures. What??????

Anyways, I’m pretty sure we were the first strollers to cross the finish line. I heard many people say, “Wow, look at that guy move with that stroller” and then closely followed by ” Wow, there goes his wife.” Dan and I can’t race and not compete. Because of the crowds, whenever we found a break we took it. Most times we were sprinting at a 5 and a half minute mile, but then we would get caught in the crowd and it would tumble to an 11 minute mile. Frustrating… I know I took out a ton of cones on the race, and the cones I did not get, Dan got. The good thing is, that neither Dan or I ran anyone over. We were very careful.

Next year, we plan to do the Half Marathon. No more Fun runs for us.

Did I mention that we had to be at Epcot at 6:15 AM for the race Friday morning? None of use were too happy…

365 Days of Crazy: Days 4 & 5

So yesterday was CRAZY, never made it to the computer…

Day 4: Speaking of Crazy, this cat is crazy. Shaggy has to be near me or on me at all times. I tried to get the kids down for a nap this afternoon so I was laying in bed with them. Shaggy was walking around the house screaming her head off. I finally went out and told her I was in Elizabeth’s room. She followed and curled up on top of me. She sleeps on top of me all night. I sit at my desk and she is in my lap within seconds. She is one crazy kitty.

Dan and the kids are enjoying ice cream on the couch after dinner this evening. Bob did not finish his ice cream, he had to play Angry Birds!
