About www.JennCampbell.com:

I have always enjoyed "Taking Pictures." Like many moms, the minute I had my first child I became obsessed with taking pictures. But, gosh darn it, they looked nothing like I had envisioned in my head. At first I thought, "I need a better camera, I'm going to get a DSLR." Well, that didn't do it. Turns out it takes a lot more than a pretty camera. I have learned a lot and I'm still learning. The next problem I encountered was, "What am I going to do with all of the photographs I have accumulated?" There are a lot of neat photo organizational ideas out there. I have created some innovative organizational techniques through lots of trial and error. What works for one person may not work for another. Often, it is a combination of different methods. So, jump in and join me on my journey to document my children's childhood!!!

    I Was In A Rut…

    Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

I love to take pictures of my children, but I was fresh out of ideas. Then I saw some information on a new workshop “Finding the Joy”. This workshop got me out of my picture taking rut! The workshop was filled with lots of new ideas. It was also filled with lots of great tutorials, photoshop templates, and videos. I learned to focus on capturing the everyday moments. Here are some of my pictures from the workshop…

10 Things That Make My Life Easier

    Sunday, August 15th, 2010

These are things that make my life more manageable right now. Keep in mind I have 3 kids ranging in age from 8 months to 4. My list is in no order of importance, as it would change depending on the day and mood :)

    1. Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker- Love that I can make Baby C food from scratch. This makes it super duper easy. I find it easier than buying the baby food in the store. I can just throw in whatever we have in the fridge. Easy and Healthy!

    2. Kindle Wireless Reading Device- I love to read books. I no longer have the time or energy to run to the bookstore and grab a book. I am also ANTI-CLUTTER at this point in my life. It is super easy and fast to download a book. Love it!

    3. flylady.net- If you haven’t checked this site out, do it now! It will change your life. I no longer have heart palpitations when friends or family drop by without first calling. My house is “usually” in decent shape.
    4. Learning Resources Calendar and Weather Pocket Chart- This is what we do after we eat breakfast every morning. The kids love to report the weather and we are learning all about seasons and time.

    5. Water Bottles- You can get these anywhere. I think we got ours at Target. My kids love to sip on water all day. This is a necessity in Florida!

    6. Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor- Running keeps me somewhat sane. I run at least once a day, sometimes twice. This keeps me from getting lazy, as it let’s me know my pace.

    7. Bob Revolution Stroller- This goes hand in hand with number 6. Kids have to come with me when I run. We tell stories, sing songs, and play games.
    8. Netbook- I can answer emails and get a few things done while playing with kids. Or a little stinker can sneak up and takeover!

    9. IMAC- What can I say? I love it. It makes everything easier. My PC would crash all the time and it was slow. This is fast and, knock on wood, no problems yet.

    10. Teething Bling - That cute little baby is currently teething like MAD. My poor shoulder was turning into his teething toy. I bought a pretty green Teething Bling Pendant and we are both relieved. I wish I had a picture of this, but I have few pictures of myself.. (However, I plan to rectify this problem by taking the “Finding Your Joy” workshop-

    What makes me happy?

    Monday, August 9th, 2010

I’m noticing a theme in forum and blog posts lately. Us moms are “trying” to focus on what makes us happy. I think it’s great and about time. If mom is happy, the whole family is happy, right? There is even a workshop being offered by Kelly Willette about “Finding Your Joy.” Check it our here:

I think this is a great idea. I would love to be in a few more pictures. Sometimes I’m afraid the kids will look back at their albums and think, “Where the heck was my mom?”

I’ve been trying to figure out what makes me happy. I asked myself, “If I had a whole day to myself, what would I do with that day?” Here’s what I came up with:
    1. Sleep in :)
    2. Go for a run without having to push a stroller
    3. Take a nice long, quiet shower (with no interruptions)
    4. Read a book

Ok, so now it’s 11:00 in the morning and I’m lonely and bored. Let’s face it, I’m used to the chaos and I really think I like it. So now I’d grab my camera and my kids and start taking pictures of my favorite subjects.

    CHAOS!!!

    …The Perfect Day!
